•Time
for CD/Print•
Time for Print
is an arrangement between a model and a photographer whereby the
photographer agrees to provide the model with an agreed number of
pictures of the best photographs from the session, and a limited license
to use to those pictures in return for the model's time. A variation of
this arrangement is Trade
for CD,
where the photographer provides the selection of images on a CD instead
of prints.
The model benefits
by building a portfolio to show to prospective clients at little, or no
cost, while the photographer gets a model for a particular project with
little, if any, outlay of cash. This allows the photographer the ability
to try out new ideas for final images to show a client, this is with no
payment from either party. The number of pictures which the photographer
delivers to the model ranges from a single photograph for the shoot up
to six images for each hour the shoot lasts. Finished pictures will be
delivered within two weeks unless otherwise arranged.
Modeling levels
(i.e., how clothed the model is) will be fully agreed upon before the
shoot starts. Model agrees to limited use of pictures from a shoot,
using only specifically agreed pictures on online portfolios (to avoid
sub-standard pictures that damage the photographer's reputation).
Photographer, in turn, agrees to use only certain images in printed
publications and/or on the internet.
I will rarely do
"time for cd/print"
work; yet, might be inclined to do so with the
right model. A shoot with
me is normally a full day event and involves many
different set-ups,
clothing changes and image types. You will have a variety of
B&W, color,
colorized, indoor lifestyle, location, studio, fashion, athletic,
editorial, artistic, and whatever else seems appropriate. Expect that a
full shoot
will be exhausting, fulfilling and just plain fun!
